A little news entry about the C++ User Group meetings this month.

Currently I know of 3 C++ User Groups meeting this month:

I'd like to start with Berlin, as they do meet the first time this month! I've traveled in September to Berlin to bring a few of my C++ contacts together, as most of them are interested in participating in a local C++ User Group. As far as I know they will meet on October 16th at 19 o'clock at the c-base. The talk is scheduled to start at 20 o'clock, I'm not sure if the topic is Qt5 or ODEINT with OpenCL/CUDA.

Now, on the same day, we have another C++ User Group meeting in Belgium. Belgium has its own C++ User Group since this year. They meet on Tuesday, 16th October. There will be two talks, the first about cppnetlib, a C++ Network Library proposed for the standard, and the second one about comparing Unit Test Frameworks. Further Details you'll find on their website. Also, they

Every 3rd Wednesday we have our meeting in Düsseldorf now established, this time we focus talkwise on QML with a little Qt5 frosting. We will meet again at the Chaosdorf, the local hackerspace.

If you wonder, how to get your own C++ User Group started, I will try to give a talk at Meeting C++ about local communities for C++. In short, try to find 3-4 other people interested in C++, and you're set to go. As location, hackerspaces can be ideal to start this, but not every city has one. In Germany I will try to support you with my german C++ Group at Xing. Right now I know about people beeing interested in Denmark(Kopenhagen) and France(Paris/Toulouse). I'd like to get more C++ User Groups started in Europe!

Also in this week, there is another "C++ User Group" meeting in Oregon. The C++ Standard Committee Meeting will be from 15th - 19th October in Portland, Oregon. They have a lot of interesting Papers to talk about. After this week we will see the results, reading the papers shows that C++ might get some nice additions for the next Standard.
