So, time to announce some things regarding the website.

I had plans for this long time, but not the time to implement and create those changes. Its about getting further with this little project called Meeting C++. I want it to be more then just a conference, so I have enhanced the site with a little bit of content.

Blog

I used to blog about C++ and Qt for some time in German, but with last years Meeting C++ I had no time. And now I feel its better if I doit in english, as I can reach much more people that way. I don't know how often I'm going to blog, for now there is a first entry about implementing a counting words algorithm in C++11. I'll probably blog about Qt5 and also BB10 later on, as this is the stuff, with what I am currently working. For now I can say Qt5 is great (but needs some fixes) and BB10 + cascades looks really promising. And with the blog, I might also host some guest authors.

Newsletter

I am thinking about writing a newsletter every 1-2 month, about C++. It will be filled with lots of good content, some links etc. Please subscribe to it, if you want to receive the first newsletter in February. Currently 30 people have subscribed, but only 17 have also opted-in in receiving the actual newsletter. So maybe you'll need to check your spamfolder after subscribing.

Sponsors

I am looking for companies willing to sponsor the website Meeting C++. This would enable me to put more time in my goal of setting up a european Network for C++. Also I could then visit some of the User Groups or maybe provide travel funding. I have removed the old sponsors of last years Meeting C++, as the sponsorships were for the event, and not the site. The Traffic on the website is about 1-2k a month minimum, with higher peaks. So this can give you some exposure to the C++ Community. Please contact me if you are interested in the details.

Jobs

This is for me an important part. One thing I noted in last years organizing Meeting C++ was, that a lot of Companies are looking for C++ Devs, and have open positions. I'd like to give them a chance to publish them on Meeting C++, so that they might find the right person. So if you have open positions, you can publish them now on Meeting C++ too! And ofcourse this may help some of my visitors in finding a new and better job!

Events

I put up the Events page for the english part in November, and now its finally available in the german part too. I'll keep updating both calendars, for now its already filled till May. User Group Meetings will also be listed there.
