Now that a bit of time has passed I'd like to publish a Code of Conduct transparency report.
While during the conference there were no reports, we've received two reports on the same issue shortly after conference: folks coughing during the conference. One of them is more general about folks coughing and one is particular about a single person being sick in the audience from their perspective. Which is good feedback, thanks for your reports!
We've discussed this internally with the CoC team after the conference, and its not yet decided what exactly we can do about this for Meeting C++ 2025. My team usually does not monitor the audience at the conference for who is coughing and who is not.
I've noticed the folks with a dry cough during the conference too, especially while filming in the main hall on the last day. I also do know that many folks have a partially chronic cough staying around after an infection (Covid especially), so its not always the case that these folks are currently sick. The AC in the hotel does also make a contribution to this with dryer air then folks are used to. But I do understand that this is a point where we could improve for this years event.
One thing in this regard I've done last year is sharing ways to protect you against infections with antiviral nosesprays. These pre-date the 2020 pandemic and are working against viruses in general.
