There is only 4 weeks and two days left until this years Meeting C++ conference!

This years conference is special with 4 keynotes and lots of C++ committee folks traveling through town, onsite the conference features 33 talks in 3 tracks, online an additional track is offered. This year Meeting C++ is again a hybrid conference, so you should come to Berlin if you can to meet everyone from the confererence onsite. But if you can't make it this year, attending online is a great option to see all the talks at and after the conference!

The final weeks before the conference have started, and next week Meeting C++ online will host some of the prerecordings for the online track. Tickets for Berlin and online are available until the first week of November, but it is better if you can get your tickets until the end of October. There is a limited amount of Hotel tickets left, these will sell out within next week.

Stretch goals for the conference

There is some things I'd like to add to the conference, if the budget extends to a point that this can be feasible. I want to offer conference t-shirts again, which looks at the moment feasible. One other stretch goal is offering food in the evening, which is not covered by the contract and is very expensive. Also the student and support programs are funded through the ticket sale, so for this year we'll have a few onsite tickets in these programs again, with everyone else attending online.

This year is a late selling year, in other years Meeting C++ was sold out mid October. The recession plays a role in this, and also I've seen less interest in hiring for C++ this year plus heard from some C++ trainers that they've been more busy in the past. Especially hiring has an effect on conference turn up, as some folks are send to build their network for hiring folks in the future or sponsors are present for that reason.
