What to look forward to in C++26
Guy Davidson
On Day 2 at 13:15 (CET/Berlin) in Track B [Opal Room and online]
The three-year train model continues to deliver as the next version of C++ heaves into view. In Croydon earlier this year the committee waved off the working draft to ISO to publish it as C++26. It will take a while to work its way through the process, but we're ready to start looking at what it delivers for you, the C++ user.
The obvious, big picture items are reflection, contracts and std::execution. These impact hugely on the standard in very different ways. We will spend some time looking at each of these features, but also other smaller items like the hardened standard library.
We'll also look ahead to C++29 and consider what is still to be done. The committee listens and adapts to outside commentary: here you will find out what we've updated.
