Tanweer Ali

The C++ Auto-Vectorizer: When Your Loops Fail to SIMD

Tanweer Ali is a Software Engineer with over 15 years of professional experience, including more than 7 years of dedicated C++ development in Senior and Lead Developer roles across the simulation and navigation domains. He specialises in modern C++, cross-platform development (Linux, Android, iOS, and Windows), with a particular interest in SIMD, parallel programming, and compiler optimisations.

In the past, he worked as Lead Software Engineer for HERE Technologies and contributed to the modernisation of a cross-platform C++ based SDK for HERE Maps and worked on technical prototypes for Sony Honda's AFEELA EV project involving 3D map data rendering with Unreal Engine. Prior to that, at Siemens, he worked on Simcenter PreScan, a physics-based 3D simulation platform for virtual ADAS testing.

Currently, he is doing independent development & consulting. He has published game built with Unreal Engine 5 and writing performance-focused C++ blogs.
