Stefan Fuhrmann
Speed for free - current state of auto-vectorizing compilers
Stefan Fuhrmann is a software performance expert with over 35 years of experience. He has been designing, implementing, and contributing to a wide range of applications, from classic embedded signal data processing over object-oriented data storage, project management tools, and integrated HW/SW solutions to level 4 fully autonomous vehicles and open source version control systems.
All that experience built an intuitive understanding of these systems that helps to focus and guide development teams. In his role as performance engineer, he loves to push systems to their very best in terms of speed and utility. Together with 4 team mates, he left Bosch in 2024 and founded Efficientware to offer performance engineering services to a wider market.
Over the years, he also formed strong opinions about the process of software and system development. Always happy to discus and change his mind if there is a better argument.
