Foundry’s Research Team develops cutting-edge industrial-strength image processing technology and has a proven track record commercialising intellectual property in applications for film production as well as custom applications for technology partners. The Team bridges academic research and industry applications and creates cutting-edge technology for the creative industries. The team works closely with clients in film visual- effects and takes technology from concept through to market.
This Lead Research Engineer role is an exciting opportunity to lead our A.I Research team and help leverage the power of machine learning across the company’s product range. You'll be responsible for the technical output - and quality - of your team of no more than 7, by line managing them to work as a unit combining research, development and testing. To do this you'll have some management experience, alongside good SDLC knowledge including Agile/SCRUM, using these skills to lead phasing/estimating work for your team. You'll interact with customers in areas of team expertise to understand and solve/mitigate any issues that arise as well as owning go/no go decisions for releases affecting your team. The Lead Research Engineer reports to the Research Engineering Manager and works with the Head of Research to coordinate the long-term development of intellectual property required for future product releases.
