Meeting C++ Newsletter March 2015
Hello C++ Community!
Its time for a new newsletter! I'll focus on the shortly announced Meeting C++ Conference and news from the User Groups + whats new in C++ Land.
Meeting C++ 2014
The most important facts:
- 4th & 5th December at the Andels Hotel in Berlin
- 4 Tracks - 28 Talks about C++
- 2 Keynotes
- Workshops planned on Thursday
- Studentprogram again sponsored by think-cell
- Theme track: "embedded"
I've attended the LWG Meeting in Cologne and also mad a small blog series about the papers for Cologne. C++17 is on its way, Concepts could make it into the new Standard, and a lot of more good things to come, especially also with the library. At the cologne meeting also Chris Kohlhoff gave a talk on ansynchronous programming with boost asio and threads. Within this year, it should be clear, what one can expect from C++17.
For the community, there are also a few interesting news. There is now a podcast about C++: cppcast.com, while the world wide trend for founding C++ User Groups continues, you might want to join the C++ Community Planning Session, which is at this Thursday, 17:00 Berlin time, but will go on all evening.
There used to be a link list with each newsletter, showing the latest and best blogs and articles on C++. I do post this list now every Friday as a blogroll on Meeting C++!
